Growing up in Brazil, money was a taboo topic, especially at the dinner table. Even after earning a college degree and MBA, investing was an unknown world. Everything changed when I moved to the U.S. for my second master’s degree and my manager at a door-to-door sales job handed me Rich Dad Poor Dad. That book opened a new world.

While studying to become a social worker, Rich Dad Poor Dad completely shifted the direction of my life. I spent a year in REIA classes, analyzing deals, and collecting “no” after “no” until my now-husband and I finally bought our first duplex using a thirty thousand dollar loan from my parents.
